Saudi naval forces deploy amid escalating tensions in Yemen

Situation in Yemen continues to escalate

This comes amid continuous escalation in Yemen, most recently culminating in the closure of the Aden airport following a Saudi request to reinstate inspection procedures for all departures and arrivals.

Yemen’s Transport Minister under the Presidential Council, Abdul Salam Hameed, who is affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, ordered the complete closure of Aden Airport, according to a Saudi source cited by Reuters, on January 1.

The source said the minister’s move brought all aviation activity to a complete standstill, in contravention of a Saudi-backed government directive that imposed specific limits on flight

In a related development, the UAE-backed STC Ministry of Transport criticized Saudi Arabia’s decision to subject all international flights to inspections via Jeddah Airport.

The Ministry said in a statement, “We received a memorandum stipulating that all international flights must pass through inspections at Jeddah Airport, before Saudi authorities amended it to continue the previous procedure, except for flights to and from UAE airports (Dubai – Abu Dhabi).”

It added that “Saudi measures will directly affect citizens, significantly impacting ticket prices, travel times, and the humanitarian hardships for passengers, patients, and the elderly.”

The source said the minister’s move brought all aviation activity to a complete standstill, in contravention of a Saudi-backed government directive that imposed specific limits on flights to and from Abu Dhabi and Dubai as part of efforts to “curb the ongoing escalation in the country.”

A priori les yemenites attendaient le versement des 346 millons de dollars par les saoudiens avant d'entrer et de déclarer la guerre, ils l'ont fait hier. Ils se font pas acheter eux, ils auront pas les prochaines tranches eux mais pas graves. Je les aimes bien , j'ai l'impression qu'ils vont vraiment faire chier la coalition espteinienne dans les prochains jours/semaines.
