SUPERHIND MKIII B UPGRADE
The operational application of the Mi-24 assault helicopter has been significantly enhanced by an in-house ATE programme. The upgraded capability of the SUPERHIND MK3 provides for night operational capability with improved weapons systems incorporating a duel feed 20mm turreted cannon, laser beam rider tandem warhead anti-armour missile, bombing functions integrated to the main stabilised sight and improved self protection.
Weapons delivery profiles have been brought into line with current modern attack helicopters by the integration of cockpit improvements and upgraded ground attack and self-defence capabilities. Digital enhancement of detection, recording, navigation, sighting, control, armament and armament delivery provide the SUPERHIND MK3 with a significant increase in operational capability and utilisation.
ATE has furthermore designed a Western logistics support system for the total aircraft. The new support philosophy focuses on the increase of calendar life and the removal and extension of times between overhauls of components. Supply of new documentation, spares, field services and expertise form part of the ATE logistics package for the SUPERHIND MK3
ATE has initiated an upgrade to the Superhind MkIII B by removing 2t of mass from the aircraft and integrating a digital glass cockpit, which will give the helicopter a Nap-Of-The-Earth (NOE) capability whilst maintaining its firepower. A new cockpit-layout will provide unsurpassed visibility.
COMPOSITE HELICOPTER BLADES
ATE has commissioned a facility to manufacture Mi-24 main rotor blades in composite material, to give the blades an infinite life. This facility will increase ATE’s ability to act as original equipment manufacturer of Russian Mil Helicopters.
