Ok car je suis fan d'airsoft et je souhaite me faire une tenue mais après avoir réfléchi, ce sera ou les rangers ou la 101 airborne, les rangers car ils font parties des forces spéciales les plus respectés dans le monde et la 101 airborne pour ce qu'elle a accompli pendant la seconde guerre mondiale, mais je n'arrive pas à me décider alors entre ces deux unités, y a t-il une grosse différence, est-ce que l'une des deux est bien plus forte que l'autre ?

la 101 airborne n'est pas une unité mais une division avec brigades, régiments et bataillons en plus de deux brigades de transport aérien (c'est pour ça qu'on dit airborne = aéroporté) et pour eux c'est Air Assault

leurs derniers saut en parachutes remonte, si je ne me trompe pas, à la guerre du Vietnam donc c'est une division d'élite et ne faisant pas partie des forces spéciales US.

La 101e division aéroportée US — en anglais 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) — est une division de l'Armée de terre des États-Unis entraînée principalement pour l'assaut héliporté.
Pour des raisons historiques, elle conserve le terme "parachutiste" mais la division ne conduit plus d'opérations parachutistes. Ce type d'opération est maintenant réservé à la 82e division aéroportée. Elle est d'ailleurs réorganisée depuis 2006 en quatre brigades de combat et c'est la seule division de l'Armée de terre des États-Unis à posséder deux brigades d'aviation.

U.S. Army Targets Vehicle Industrial Base

Over the next several years, more than a few big-ticket items in the Army’s annual budget will reach major milestones—transitioning from new-build production to long-term sustainment accounts. Overall, 37 Army systems will make that switch, moving Army dollars away from the production line to the often more complicated—and very expensive—world of spare parts, upgrades and reset contracts.

The list is being led by some assembly-line stalwarts like Bradley, Stryker, Abrams tank and Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles, which all reach the end of their production schedules over the next two years. “We’re going to really have some tough times ahead in U.S. manufacturing related to medium vehicles,” the Army’s Ground Combat Systems chief, Scott Davis, said at the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) conference here earlier this year. To try to keep those vehicle production lines warm, the Army and industry are pushing for international sales of the Bradley, Abrams and Stryker, and have received “a fair amount of interest” from a variety of potential clients, Davis added, without identifying them. To expedite those potential sales as much as possible “would really help us address some of the gaps we see in front of us in the manufacturing base.”

U.S. Army Defining New Multi-Role Helicopter

It has been decades since the U.S. Army had the chance to define a clean-sheet rotorcraft. But an opportunity is approaching as the service heads toward the multi-year demonstration of configurations and technologies for next-generation utility/attack rotorcraft that could replace today’s Sikorsky UH-60s and Boeing AH-64s, beginning around 2030.

The Joint Multi-Role (JMR) concept evolved from an analysis of U.S. vertical-lift needs, which included a painful assessment of the shortfalls of current rotorcraft and gaps in industry capabilities. The conclusion was that another round of upgrades for existing platforms would not be enough, and that a technology demonstration program was needed to get industry up to speed to deliver a next-generation rotorcraft on time and on cost.

The JMR technology demonstration is intended to apply to all classes of Army rotorcraft, from armed scout to heavy lift, but is focused on the medium utility-class because replacing the Black Hawk fleet “offers the biggest bang for the buck,” says Ned Chase, JMR technology-demonstration team leader and chief of the platform technology division at the Army’s Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD).

Vidéo des Marines : l'armée américaine a identifié deux des quatre soldats

Un officier a annoncé que deux des quatre Marines urinant sur des cadavres de Taliban ont été identifiés. La vidéo qui les confond a fait le tour d'Internet et met à mal les négociations de paix des États-Unis en Afghanistan.

REUTERS - Deux des quatre "marines" apparaissant sur une vidéo en train d'uriner sur les cadavres de taliban ont été identifiés, a déclaré jeudi un officier du corps d'élite américain, qui considère le document comme authentique.

Il a indiqué que les deux militaires faisaient toujours partie du 3e bataillon des marines basé à Camp Lejeune, en Caroline du Nord. Leur unité a servi en Afghanistan, dans la province d'Helmand, entre mars et septembre 2011, a précisé cet officier.

Cette vidéo, qui fait le tour d'internet, a suscité l'indignation à Kaboul. Le corps des marines a fermement réprouvé le comportement de ces hommes et le secrétaire à la Défense, Leon Panetta, a jugé ces images "tout à fait déplorables".

ben j'aimerais faire une tenue de l'US ARMY et les Navy seals n'en font pas parties si je ne me trompe pas mais entre la 101 airborne et les rangers qui sont les plus qualifiés ?

4/17/2012 - SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE, N.C. (AFNS) -- Airmen from the 4th Fighter Wing honored their heritage by launching nearly 70 F-15E Strike Eagles in a Turkey Shoot training mission April 16 here.

The Strike Eagles taxied one after the next down the base flightline before heading to bombing ranges across North Carolina to destroy more than 1,000 targets. The purpose of this mass launch was two-fold.

"This F-15E Strike package and Turkey Shoot honored the excellence and sacrifices of our Wing's past while 'flexing' 4th (Fighter Wing) airpower today, sharpening our warfighting spirit and skills as we look toward the future," said Col. Patrick Doherty, the 4th FW commander.

The term Turkey Shoot dates back to a mission that took place June 19, 1944, during World War II.
