Le Pakistan teste un missile balistique à capacité nucléaire
Les militaires pakistanais ont testé jeudi avec succès un missile balistique modernisé de moyenne portée Hatf-IV, capable de porter une ogive nucléaire, rapporte le service de presse de l'armée pakistanaise.
Le missile Hatf-IV Shaheen-2, d'une portée de 1.500 kilomètres, a atteint sa cible située en mer d'Arabie. Le lancement a été suivi par de hauts responsables de l'armée pakistanaise.
D'après le Service de recherche du Congrès US, le Pakistan possède aujourd'hui entre 90 et 110 ogives nucléaires. En 2010, la revue américaine Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists estimait qu'Islamabad détenait entre 70 et 90 ogives.
L'Inde, principal ennemi potentiel du Pakistan, possède, selon diverses estimations, entre 80 et 100 ogives nucléaires.

Le Pakistan achète des hélicoptères Mi-35 !



La Russie vient d’approuver l’accord de vente concernant un lot d’hélicoptères lourds d'attaque Mil Mi-35 «Hind E» au Pakistan. Cette vente concerne un total de 20 hélicoptères entièrement équipés.
L'armée pakistanaise a choisi le Mi-35 en raison de sa satisfaction avec ses hélicoptères russes de type Mi-17 qu’elle a utilisé précédemment. Mais le plus intéressant dans cette vente provient du changement de politique de la Russie qui équipe fortement le voisin Indien. La Russie, qui limite l’exportation du Mi-35 au Pakistan avec seulement vingt exemplaires, semble vouloir appuyer la lutte de l’armée pakistanaise dans sa campagne contre les talibans dans la région du Waziristan du nord le long de la frontière afghane.

PAF wants to buy Chinese stealth aircraft: minister



ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has expressed interest in procuring fourth generation stealth fighter aircraft FC-31 from China.

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain told Dawn on Friday the matter was being discussed with Chinese authorities.

It is for the first time that a senior government functionary has confirmed talks with China over purchase of the longer-range stealth aircraft — an issue that has been a subject of speculation in defence circles since the 10th edition of the Zhuhai Air Show (China) held earlier this month, when the aircraft was unveiled.

The Jane’s Defence Weekly had quoted an unnamed Pakistani official as saying that the PAF was holding talks with China for the purchase of 30 to 40 of the Shenyang FC-31 fighter planes and that discussions had gone beyond initial inquiries.

The FC-31 is being developed by China primarily for the export market. Chinese officials claim that several countries have expressed interest in the aircraft believed to be comparable to US F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

A prototype of the aircraft, designated as J-31, has been flown by the Chinese aircraft research and development firm Shenyang Aviation Company for a couple of years now.

What particularly interests the PAF is that FC-31 prototype (J-31) and JF-17 use the same Russian Klimov RD-93 engines.

Pakistan is increasingly relying on China as a reliable source for its defence procurements.

Mr Hussain said that Pakistan was also interested in Chinese attack helicopter Z-10.

China and Pakistan had earlier co-produced JF-17 Thunder. Pakistan has been eagerly trying to market this fighter aircraft.

“We have nearly confirmed orders from seven countries for JF-17,” Mr Hussain said.

Pakistan, which is at present producing Block-2 of JF-17 at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, is eyeing orders from countries in the Middle East and Africa.

“The PAF has a requirement of 250 aircraft, but now we have decided that we’ll sell some of the JF-17 Block-2 to international buyers besides fulfilling our local demand,” the minister said.

The minister sounded upbeat about the upcoming four-day defence exhibition IDEAS 2014 beginning in Karachi on Dec 1.

Some 175 companies, including 34 local firms, are participating in the international event this year.

Mr Hussain said a few MoUs and agreements on joint ventures were expected to be signed during the exhibition, but no orders were expected at the event.

“The basic spirit behind the exhibition is to increase interaction with defence industry (officials) of other countries and provide exposure to our own industry,” he said.

Pakistan Re-equips Squadron With AEW&C Planes
ISLAMABAD — Pakistan's Air Force (PAF) Thursday stood up its unit of Chinese Karakorum Eagle AEW&C aircraft in a ceremony attended by the head of the PAF, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Though the exact location of the ceremony was not given, it is believed to have been held at PAF Base Masroor in Karachi as the prime minister was known to have been in the city that day.

The four Karakorum Eagle AEW&C aircraft join the surviving three Saab Erieye AEW&C aircraft ordered in 2005 and delivered from 2009. One of the four Erieye aircraft was destroyed in a terrorist attack on Kamra Air Base in August 2012.

Pakistan and China develop two-seat Xiaolong fighter

To introduce the FC-1 Xiaolong multirole fighter, also known as the JF-17 Thunder, to the overseas market, China and Pakistan are going to display a two-seater version of the aircraft during the Paris Air Show held from June 15-21 this year, reports the Moscow-based Military Parade.

Known as the FC-1B or JF-17B, this two-seater fighter is likely to be equipped with the French-built M88-2 engine. It is currently equipped with the Rafale twin-engine fighter designed by Dassault for the French Air Force.

With this new engine, the range of the Xiaolong can be extended from 800 kilometers to 1,000 kilometers, according to the report. A refueling probe will be installed on the FC-1B or JF-17B as well for aerial refueling according to an unofficial source.

Other defense analysts have queried whether the M88-2 can be fitted to a two-seater Xiaolong.

L'armée pakistanaise dit avoir effectuer le premier vol de leur premier drone armé, construit localement.

Il s'agirait, vu le drone, du MALE chinois CH-3 conçu par le groupe CASIC. Le Pakistan devrait avoir la licence de production.



CH-3 a déjà été exporté à plusieurs pays.

Les premiers FC-1 / JF-17 Block II commencent à sortir de la chaîne d'assemblage pakistanaise.

Le Block II comprend la capacité de ravitaillement en vol, un nouveau système de génération d'oxygène pour que le pilote puisse rester plus longtemps en vol, ainsi qu'une nouvelle suite d'auto-défense électronique ECM.

Le Block III est en développement actuellement en Chine, qui comprend par exemple un nouveau radar AESA pour remplacer le KLJ-7 actuel.

Block 2 JF-17 makes first flight ahead of Block 3 improvements

The first Block 2 JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft made its maiden flight from the Pakistan Aeronautical Company (PAC) facility at Kamra on 9 February.

The aircraft (serial number 2P01) made three more successful flights before being taken to the paint shop in mid-February. The test flights came as a boost as PAC continues to look for a first export customer for its platform.

Air Commodore Ahsan Rafiq, Deputy Chief Project Director (Operations) JF-17 and a former commanding officer of the JF-17 Test and Evaluation Unit, described the Block 2 version as "an upgraded Block 1 with an air-to-air refuelling (AAR) probe, enhanced oxygen system [to allow the pilot to stay in the air longer], and improved electronic countermeasures system (ECS)".

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has a contract for 50 Block 2 JF-17s but as Air Cdre Ahsan pointed out, "the full AAR system will not appear until the 29th jet, which should fly later this year [at Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) in China]."

In a further development that sends a clear signal that PAC and Chinese marketing partner CATIC intend business in the international arena, the Block 2 JF-17 will also have a two-seater version, which is now being developed at Chengdu according to the PAF's requirements.

"We know potential customers would like to see a two-seater, although it is not such a big deal for the PAF, which started flying several types, [A-5, F-6, F-7P and F-7PG] without a training version," Air Cdre Ahsan said. "This will give us the chance to show potential suitors how the jet can perform in the air."

Tous deux sont en réalité de la conception chinoise, le drone Burraq est la production locale du MALE chinois CH-3 conçu par le groupe CASC, le missile Burq est quant à lui la production locale du missile AR-1.
