This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a major Non-NATO ally that continues to be an important force for political stability and economic progress in North Africa.

The proposed sale will contribute to Morocco's self-defense capabilities.  The purchase will improve interoperability with the United States and other regional allies and enhance Morocco’s ability to undertake coalition operations, as it has done in the past in flying sorties against ISIS in Syria and Iraq.  Morocco already operates an F‑16 fleet and will have no difficulty absorbing this aircraft and services into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

The prime contractor will be Lockheed Corporation, Bethesda, Maryland.  The purchaser typically requests offsets.  Any offset agreement will be defined in negotiations between the purchaser and the contractor.

Implementation of this proposed sale will require the assignment of 10 additional U.S. Government and approximately 75 contract representatives to Morocco.

There will be no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.

This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded.

All questions regarding this proposed Foreign Military Sale should be directed to the State Department's Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs, pm-

No delivery date for the moment.
Yes 48 F16 block 70/72 with AESA radar, 4 squadrons with probably two "escadrilles" per squadrons.
This deal replace the F-5's and F16 lost in Yemen. And the upgrade of the 23 existing F16 will be at home.

Thank you my friend.

According to these new contracts, all F16 pilots will be equipped with the JHMCS helmet and all F16s will have the Sniper pod, which was not the case before. We also took 6 new DB-110 Goodrich POD's.

Some moroccan forumers say that in the coming months, the DSCA site will unveil the notification for the new Apache AH-64E. We do not know the exact number. So we will replace the F5 and the old Gazelles. It was time to do it.

Yeah it is possible to put the block52 electronic stuff into second hand F16, it is a good idea to increase the number of fighters.
For the F5 upgrade i don't think it is true, they are to old and the Mirage F1's have more capacities to stay for 10 years or more, then the Rafale will be the best option to replace them. So be sure that these new Vipers will take the place of the oldies F5.

Il y aura donc (selon les précédents messages et les diverses sources & forums) :

- 48 F16V Block 70/72
=> dont 23 F-16C/D Block 52+ upgrade (estimated cost of $985.2 million, ~ 42.8 million/appareil)
=> une nouvelle commande de 25 F16V Block 70/72 (estimated cost of $3'787 million, ~ 151.5 million/appareil + équipements .... ou bien, $2'801.8 million, ~ 112.0 million/appareil + équipements)
* remplacement "éventuel" des 28 F-5E Tiger II ?

"Potentielle acquisition":
- 20 F-16C/D Block 40/42 (d'occasion + APG-68V9 et rétrofité en version Block 52+)
* remplacement "progressif" des 30 Mirage F1 MF2000 ?

- 24 AH-64E (en négociation...à terme)
* remplacement "éventuel" des 24 SA-342L Gazelle ?
* Il y a aussi des rumeurs ou options sur le AH-1 Viper, le ATAK T-129, le Tiger III-IV ?

CAS/COIN:
En remplacement potentiel futur des 24 Alpha Jet, il y a de la place pour une de ces versions :
- BAE Systems Hawk-200,

- Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master,
- KAI T-50 / FA-50 Golden Eagle
